Griffon Parents

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is a rough coated, strong and graceful medium sized hunting dog. They have a large, long head and soft, thick, bushy eyebrows, beard and mustache. The tail is docked at 1/2 to 1/3 it's length and it carries it's tail horizontally and dew claws should be removed. The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is a skilled field dog, energetic, loving and intelligent. It is a superior gun dog, tracker and an excellent hunting companion . It points and retrieves with a deliberate style, generally staying within the hunter's gun range. Lively and active, the breed works well in marshland and upland, and it is a fine pointer and water retriever. It's also an excellent family pet, being gentle and affectionate with children. This dog is very willing to please and is easily trained. This breed loves personal contact.
