We are excited to introduce the next
versatile hunter to our Kennel. The Vizon is a hybrid cross between a
Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and a Vizsla. Our first breeding of these
two breeds has turned out to be quite promising. We held two pups back
from our first breeding and have started to get them a field. They are
doing very well!! Both the Griffon and Vizlsa are pointers, retrievers
and love the water. Both breeds are great family companions. We have
opted to not dock the tails on these dogs. The dew claws have been
removed. The dogs have a heavy duty dark brown coat which is exceptional
for the northern climate. The coats vary from a smoother look to a more
coarsely furnished look. The females are averaging 50 - 55 # and the
males are ranging 55 - 65#. The feedback we have received from the Vizon
owners has been good. These are intelligent dogs. We look forward to
updating you on their progress in the field.
"Our goal in breeding is to take the best of both breeds and combine
them into a hardworking, no nonsense, blue collar breed. It is our hope
that this will allow more hunting homes to share in the thrill and
enjoyment of hunting behind a great versatile dog."
Keep an eye on next years breeding when we will breed the pups we have
held back to one another, as we move from the hybrid stage to a truly
new breed of dog!!! |

Drew
and Kim...
Here is a picture of our Vizon...Goose. He is great. We are so happy to
have him in our family. We have been working with him and he is doing
great. Can't wait to see what he does during bird season! Thanks so
much!!! He and the cat still have some issues to work out, but that is
going well too!!! :)

Hi Drew,
Leiba is a bright, energetic puppy that learns very fast. She gets along
with other dogs and is well behaved around people. I started working
with her at 3 1/2 - 4 months of age. She picked up commands very quickly
and exhibited hunting instincts very early. I spend 15 - 30 minutes a
day with her teaching commands and working on her social skills. I
started training her on live birds at 5 months and had her in the field
at the age of 6 months. Initially she flushed the birds and was very
eager to retrieve them for me. After hunting for several weekends Leiba
started pointing the birds
instead of flushing them. She holds her point
well, rarely flushing the bird even if it moves off. Leiba has a great
nose, listens
to commands
and hunts tirelessly. My friends and hunting buddies were amazed at how
well she did in the field for a puppy. She performed as well as the two
and three year old dogs. Additionally, her unique appearance has led to
many conversations with other hunters. We couldn't be happier. I would
recommend a Vizon for anyone who wants a hunting dog or simply a family
pet. Here are a couple of photos. |
